Affiliates
Run an affiliate program: let partners promote your funnels with their own referral link and earn a commission on the sales they drive. Open the Affiliates page from the side menu.
Turn a funnel into an affiliate offer
Affiliate commissions are off by default on every funnel — so you can keep selling other people's offers through funnels without ever paying commission on them. When you have a funnel for your own product that you want partners to promote, open that funnel, go to its Affiliate program card, and switch it on. Only funnels you turn on appear as offers to your affiliates.
Each affiliate-enabled funnel has a commission structure you control: an initial rate for the first sale, optional recurring rates for renewals (which can step down — e.g. 50%, then 45%, then 35%), and a limit (a set number of payments, or for as long as the customer stays subscribed). Leave it unset to inherit your program's default structure. The structure is shown to affiliates so they know exactly what they'll earn.
Recurring commissions are configured now and displayed to affiliates; the automatic per-renewal payout arrives with the Stripe-payout update. Until then, the first sale's commission is tracked as today.
Program settings
On the Affiliates page, Program settings controls the defaults:
- Default commission % — the rate every affiliate earns unless you give them their own rate or set a per-funnel override.
- Attribution window — how long after someone clicks an affiliate's link a purchase still credits that affiliate. The default is 60 days, last click wins.
- Allow public sign-ups / auto-approve — whether people can apply to your program themselves, and whether they're approved automatically or wait for your review.
- Default commission structure — what new affiliate funnels inherit.
- Sign-up page — a headline and intro shown on your public sign-up page.
- Program terms — shown to affiliates.
The terms, headline, and intro come pre-filled with sensible starter wording you can edit to fit your business. Use Preview sign-up page (on the Affiliate portal card) to open your public join page in a new tab and see exactly what applicants will see.
Application questions
In Program settings → Application questions, control what applicants answer when they sign up. You start with a built-in library of common questions (how they'll promote, audience size, primary channel, website, socials, niche, traffic, why they're a fit, prior experience) — the first is on by default and the rest are one click to enable.
Each question has:
- a type — short/long text, dropdown, Yes/No, URL, or number;
- a required toggle;
- optional helper text, shown as the placeholder inside the field to guide the applicant;
- an enable/disable toggle, so you can hide a question without deleting it.
For dropdown questions, add an option called Other and applicants who pick it get a
"please specify" box to type their own answer — it's saved as Other: <their text>. No
extra setup; just include Other in the option list.
Add your own questions, reorder them, or use + Add a common question to pull more in from the library. Clear all removes every question from the form — the built-in questions come straight back as clickable chips you can re-add, and any custom questions you wrote are removed. Only enabled questions appear on the public sign-up page; answers show under each affiliate (expand their row) for review.
Notification emails
Program settings → Email notifications controls the program's automatic emails. All are on by default and each can be turned off independently:
- New referred sale → emailed to the affiliate (the most frequent — turn off if it's too noisy for your partners);
- Approved / Rejected → emailed to the affiliate when you change their status;
- Payout recorded → emailed to the affiliate when you log a payment;
- New application → emailed to you (the program owner) when someone applies.
Public sign-up
When you enable public sign-ups, your portal gets a join page at
your-portal-link/join. Prospective affiliates enter their name, email, a referral code
they choose (checked for availability), an optional phone number (and whether it can receive
texts), and optionally how they'd like to be paid (PayPal email, Venmo handle, etc.) — the
"what to enter" hint updates as they pick a method. If auto-approve is on they're active
immediately and emailed a sign-in link; otherwise they land in your list as pending. New
sign-ups automatically join your default group (see below) if you've set one.
Groups (tiers)
Managing partners one-by-one doesn't scale. Groups let you bucket affiliates into tiers (e.g. Gold, Influencers) where the group carries a commission ladder its members inherit. Change the group's rate once and every member updates. Each workspace starts with a set of channel-based starter groups (Influencers, Content / Blog, Email partners, Paid media, Inactive) — rename, re-rate, or delete any of them.
In the Partner groups card you can create groups, set each group's commission ladder (or leave it empty to inherit the program default), and mark one as the default that new sign-ups join automatically.
How the commission rate is decided
For each affiliate the effective commission ladder is chosen in this order: their own custom rate/ladder if set, otherwise their group's ladder, otherwise the program default. (A specific funnel can still override the rate for sales on that funnel.) The Partners table and the affiliate's own dashboard both show the resolved ladder, tagged with where it came from.
Adding and managing affiliates
Add a partner with their name, email, and a referral code (their "slug"). The Partners table shows a clean row per partner — name, group, status, commission, earned, owed — and you click a partner to expand their row, which reveals everything for that partner:
- Group picker and a custom commission ladder (full initial + recurring schedule, not just a single %);
- Contact — their email plus an editable phone and a text-enabled flag, so you can reach them about payout or account issues;
- their application answers, payout history, and private notes;
- status actions.
Coupon codes
Give a partner a coupon code (Affiliates → Coupon codes): pick the partner, a code, and a percent- or dollar-off discount. When a buyer enters the code at checkout, they get the discount and the sale is credited to that partner — even if they never clicked a referral link. Turn the coupon code field on in the funnel's Checkout block settings so buyers can enter it. Disable or delete a code any time.
Commission boosts
Boosts add extra commission on the front-end (first) sale, on top of the partner's normal rate — a great way to run promotions or reward your best partners. Open Affiliates → Commission boosts and pick a type:
- Front-end (time-boxed) — extra % during a date window you set (e.g. +10% for launch week). Outside the window it doesn't apply.
- Per-funnel — extra % that applies to a chosen funnel (or all funnels for the selected partner).
- Milestone upgrade — a permanent extra % that switches on automatically once a partner crosses a threshold you set (total sales, revenue, or referrals).
Each boost can target all partners or one partner. Boosts stack (a +10% front-end boost and a +5% per-funnel boost together add 15 points) and only ever affect the first sale — recurring renewals always pay the normal ladder. Pause or delete a boost any time.
How the commission rate is chosen
When a sale is credited, the base rate is resolved in this order (first match wins): the partner's personal rate → their group/tier rate → the funnel's own rate → your program default. This means moving a partner into a higher tier raises their commission everywhere, even on funnels that set their own rate — and a rate you set on one partner always wins. Any active boosts are then added on top for the front-end sale.
Performance tiers (auto-promotion)
Make a partner group a performance tier by setting "Auto-promote into this tier at" to a number of active subscriptions. When a partner's active referred subscriptions reach that number, they're automatically moved up into that group and inherit its commission ladder (e.g. start at 30%, jump to a Gold group at 40 active customers). Promotion is automatic; anyone you've given a manual rate is left alone. Auto-demotion is optional — turn on "Auto-demote partners…" in Program settings if you also want partners to move down a tier when their active count falls below the threshold (off by default, so no surprise demotions).
The partners table shows an Active count per partner — how many of their referred subscriptions are still active right now. For subscription products, each renewal automatically re-pays commission at the rate set for that renewal in the partner's commission ladder (e.g. 40% on the first payment, then 10% on each renewal). One-time products only ever pay the initial rate.
Status values: Pending (awaiting approval), Active (earning), Suspended (temporarily stopped, history kept), Rejected. Removing an affiliate keeps the commission already recorded on past orders.
Finding and bulk-managing partners
Above the table: search by name/email/code, filter by status or group, sort by recent/name/earned/owed, and page through large lists. A Needs attention strip surfaces pending applications and total owed. Select partners with the checkboxes (or select-all) to bulk approve/reject/suspend, move to a group, set a commission, or record a payout in one action. Export CSV downloads the current (filtered) list with balances for accounting.
The affiliate portal
Share your affiliate portal link with partners. They sign in with their email (a magic link — no password), grab ready-made links for each funnel in your program, and see their sales, earnings, and payouts.
Each partner also gets a Your referrals list on their dashboard — every sale they drove,
with date, product, sale amount, their commission, and status — plus a Download CSV button
for their records. Buyer emails are partly masked (e.g. j***@gmail.com) so partners can
verify their sales without seeing your customers' full contact details.
Swipe & asset library
Give your partners ready-to-use promotional material so they can start promoting in minutes. In Affiliates → Swipe & asset library, add any of:
- Banner / image — pick an image from your media library (or upload a new one). Partners
see a thumbnail and can copy the image URL, copy a ready
<img>embed snippet, or download the file. - Email swipe — a subject line plus body copy partners can paste into their own email.
- Social post — short copy partners can copy and share.
- Share link — a landing-page URL. Partners get it with their referral code already appended, so the link tracks their sales automatically.
Each asset is either program-wide (shown to every partner) or scoped to one offer — choose a published, affiliate-enabled funnel under Show for. Offer-scoped assets only appear on a partner's dashboard while that funnel is a live offer.
Assets are grouped by where they show: an All offers section first, then a section per funnel, each under its own header — in both your manager and the partner's dashboard. Use Edit on any asset to change its title, copy/link, or which offer it belongs to. Partners browse and copy everything from the Promo assets section of their dashboard; copy and download are one-click.
The portal preview in Settings → Branding (affiliate surface) shows a sample swipe library — grouped banners, email/social copy, and links — so you can see exactly what partners get before you publish your own.
Payout center (bulk pay)
The Payout center tab (under Affiliates) lists every partner with cleared, unpaid commission — earned, un-reversed sales that have passed the hold window. Select partners (or Select all due), and either:
- Record payout — logs the batch as paid for all selected partners at once. Each commission is stamped to that payout, so it can never be paid twice.
- Export to pay (CSV) — a grouped, ready-to-pay list (method, handle, amount) for PayPal/Venmo/Zelle. Pay in that tool, then record the batch here for your records.
Stripe-Connect auto-payouts also appear in the Recent payouts history (labeled "Stripe (auto)") so you have one place to see all money out.
Refunds / chargebacks. On the Affiliate sales list, Reverse a sale to claw back its commission (refund or chargeback). The reversed commission immediately drops out of what you owe and out of the payout center — keeping "pending no refunds" honest.
Getting affiliates paid
Affiliates choose a payout method at sign-up and can change it any time from their dashboard (PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, bank/debit via Stripe, or other). Today the portal tracks what each affiliate has earned and what you've paid, and you record payments manually using the handle they provided.
Payout hold: Available vs Pending
Commission doesn't become payable the instant a sale closes — it sits in a payout hold
first (to cover refunds and chargebacks before you send money). Set the window under
Settings → Program settings → Payout hold (days before commission clears); the default is
30 days, and 0 means commission clears immediately.
Because of the hold, balances split two ways everywhere on the platform:
- Available — cleared, unpaid commission you can pay now (commission older than the hold window, minus what you've already paid).
- Pending — commission from recent sales still inside the hold window. It moves to Available automatically once each sale ages past the hold.
Both the owner Affiliates table and each partner's portal dashboard show the same Available / Pending split, so what a partner sees matches what you see.
Payout schedule (when you actually pay). Commission clearing the hold doesn't mean you pay that minute — that would have you cutting payments every single day. Instead you set a payout run cadence in Settings → Program settings: weekly, every 2 weeks, or monthly, plus the run day. Cleared commission is batched and paid on the next run.
Next payout date. Both the owner table and each partner's portal show the next payout in
plain terms: "$X from N sales on
Automated payouts are coming in a later update: bank/debit via Stripe will let you pay an affiliate with one click once they complete a short Stripe onboarding. PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle are paid manually by you — Stripe can't send to those directly — so those options are labeled "paid manually" in the chooser to set expectations.
Taxes (W-9 / W-8 and 1099s)
Affiliates are independent payees, so tax forms are required before you pay them.
When a form is required is your call, set under Settings → Program settings → Tax forms:
- Before first payout (default) — partners can promote freely, but no payout is released until a valid form is on file.
- Only after they earn $600 — no form until earnings cross the federal/CA 1099 threshold, then it's required.
- At sign-up — strictest: tax info is collected as part of joining. An auto-approved partner is taken straight to the tax form right after signing up; a partner awaiting your review is told they'll complete it once approved. Either way referral links stay locked until you approve a form.
Stripe-paid partners complete their W-9 (and electronic-1099 consent) inside Stripe's own secure onboarding, and Stripe e-files and delivers their 1099 — you don't collect or store anything for them. For PayPal/Venmo/Zelle/other payees, partners submit a form in their portal (W-9 for US, W-8BEN/BEN-E for non-US) and you file their 1099 yourself.
Your Taxes view (Affiliates → Taxes) lists every partner's form status, country, this-year paid total, and a 1099 flag when they cross $600. Approve or reject submitted forms there.
Security: tax IDs are stored encrypted and only the last 4 digits are ever shown.
