Segments

Segments are saved audience filters that update themselves. A list is a box you put contacts into; a segment is a question — "who bought Product X?" — answered fresh every time you look.

Build one

Open Segments (under Audience) and stack conditions. All conditions must be true (AND). Available rules:

  • Bought product — anyone whose paid order included that product (bumps and upsells count).
  • Made any purchase — every customer.
  • Has tag — contacts carrying a tag (added manually, by CSV, or by an automation).
  • Registered for webinar — any webinar, or one specific session.
  • Has course access — any course, or one specific course.
  • Email subscription is — subscribed or unsubscribed.

The live count under the builder updates as you edit — you always know how many people match before you save.

Examples

  • Product X customers who are still subscribed: Bought product → X, and Email subscription is → subscribed.
  • Hot webinar leads who never bought: Registered for webinar + Has tag engaged — (an "and didn't buy" rule is on the roadmap with campaign audiences v2).

Good to know

  • Segments are evaluated on demand, so counts always reflect right now.
  • Deleting a segment never touches the contacts in it; segments used by a campaign can't be deleted until that campaign is.
  • Campaigns can send to segments: pick any segment as the audience when creating a campaign — it re-evaluates at send time, with a recipient preview before you save.
