Courses & memberships
Sell gated content: build a course out of modules and lessons, link it to a product, and every buyer automatically gets a member area login.
Build a course
- Go to Courses and create a course.
- Add modules (sections) and lessons inside them. Each lesson has a
content type — pick the one that fits:
- Text — written lesson (blank lines start new paragraphs).
- Video — a YouTube or Vimeo link plays right on the page; any other link is shown for clicking.
- Image — an image (from your Media library or a URL) shown full-width.
- PDF / document — embedded for reading, with a download button.
- Downloadable file (zip) — a download button for resource bundles.
- Audio — an inline audio player (mp3). Every type can also carry a short notes/description. Use the arrows to reorder.
- Publish course when it is ready.
The member area lives at the member link (the Copy member link button at
the top of the course). It only opens once the course is published, so publish
before you start selling.
Let customers in
There are two doors:
Selling it. Link one or more products under Access products. Anyone who buys a linked product - in any funnel, including order bumps and one-click upsells - immediately gets an email with their access link. That is the whole setup: product on the checkout, product linked to the course.
Adding someone yourself. Under Members, add an email address. They get the same access email. This is handy for refund-proof VIPs, beta readers, or moving members over from another platform. Removing a member locks them out right away.
How members sign in
No passwords. Members enter their email on the course page and receive a sign-in link that works for 30 minutes; after clicking it they stay signed in on that device for 30 days. They can request a fresh link any time, and lessons they mark complete fill up their progress bar.
If a member says the link "expired", they typed a different email or waited too long - they can just request another.
Branding your portals
Your member area and affiliate portal can be styled to match your brand.
Set the workspace-wide look in Settings → Portal branding, and override it per course from the branding card at the bottom of each course page (only the fields you change there differ from the workspace default).
In the editor you can:
- Pick one of 32 theme presets (each with matched colors and fonts; #1 is the Cowboy MSP brand theme) and a default light or dark mode - visitors switch modes themselves with the sun/moon button in the top bar (a sign-in page shows it in the top-right corner).
- Choose heading and body fonts from a shared library of curated web fonts (Inter, Outfit, Poppins, Bebas Neue, Playfair Display and more) - the same font list is offered in the brand kit and the funnel builder, so your choices are consistent everywhere. Leave a font on "Preset default" to use the theme's pairing.
- Choose from twelve layouts for the member area - minimal, sidebar, hero banner, card grid, split, color banner, compact, wide grid, centered, accent rail, magazine, and stacked - plus corner style and heading font.
- Upload a logo and hero image, set a brand name.
- Fine-tune colors. The pickers start on each preset's actual colors, so you only change what you want. Use the Light / Dark tabs to give each mode its own colors - a dark color you skip falls back to your light choice.
- Design it with AI: describe the look you want ("warm, rustic, dark") and get a full theme dropped into the editor to review before saving.
A live preview shows exactly what members and affiliates will see.
Saved presets
Once you've dialled in a look, click Save current as preset and give it a name. Saved presets appear in the "My saved presets" row and apply to any course or your workspace in one click - handy when you run several brands.
Good to know
- Members are contacts: buying or being added creates a contact in your
workspace, fires
contact addedautomations, and shows up in your lists. - Unpublishing a course closes the member area immediately (access itself is kept - publish again and members are back in).
- Deleting a course deletes its content and member list permanently.
